Born in Fukushima prefecture in 1975. Ceramist based in Beppu, Oita prefecture. Followed in the footsteps of the family business as the fourth generation of an Obori Soma ware style pottery maker based in Namie, Fukushima prefecture. However, he was affected by the Great Tohoku Earthquake and was forced to relocate to Kanagwa prefecture and finally Beppu, Oita prefecture, where he resumes his ceramic making. Known for Hakuji pieces that emanates a beautiful soft glaze and expressive utsuwa that is made from natural clay of Beppu.
