八田 亨 Toru Hatta
1977年石川県生まれ。大阪府堺市、富田林市にて作陶。土の可能性を追求し、土味にこだわり白掛、黒掛、自然釉、三島など、現代の食卓に映える土のうつわを作る。それらは、和洋を問わず食材の色を引き立て、料理を盛ってさらに生きるうつわである。薪窯で焼成された複雑な奥深い表情は、自然の風景の美しさに例えられる存在感にあふれている。
Born in Ishikawa in 1977. Ceramist based in Sakai-shi, Tondabayashi-shi, Osaka. With a passion to pursue the exploration of clay, he creates Kohiki and Mishima paying a great deal of attention to the glaze. These works bring out the colors of a variety of Japanese and Western dishes. The complex expressions created in a wood-fired kiln are full of the presence of natural scenery.
